Commercialized K12 formation belonging to Katsuta Vehicle Center. Reproduces the Scarlet Blossom revival painting inspired by the E653 series "Fresh Hitachi" (red) with a red plum motif. A different symbol mark (red: plum and Kobun-tei) is reproduced for each formation. Reproduces the insulators and high-voltage equipment around the pantographs unique to AC/DC trains, as well as the train radio antenna and WiMAX antenna on the roof. Adoption of a slotless motor provides smooth and quiet running. The intermediate connection section is equipped with a body-mounted KATO coupler and inter-body damper as standard equipment.
